NL - Ik ben (mode)fotograaf van opleiding en heb in het begin van mijn carrière gewerkt als (mode)fotograaf en onder andere in het kunstonderwijs. In 2008 ben ik gestart als projectcoördinator bij Modemuseum Hasselt (MMH) voor de expo 'Ten Dans Gevraagd'. Een nieuwe wereld ging voor me open. Die eerste tentoonstelling was op vele vlakken meteen een succes.
10 Maanden later werd ik aangesteld als directeur bij het Modemuseum. Een job die ik tot eind 2016 met hart en ziel heb uitgevoerd. Op 9 jaar tijd stond ik in voor de organisatie van 17 tentoonstellingen in binnen- en buitenland, waarvan 9 als samensteller, curator. Daarnaast organiseerde ik tal van evenementen, openingen en persconferenties in binnen- en buitenland (Nederland, Frankrijk). Als directeur MMH heb ik de collectie van het Modemuseum uitgebreid met tal van aankopen die de collectie (en het museum) relevant gemaakt hebben voor de huidige en toekomstige generaties... Een team leiden, financiële opvolging, mediadeals afsluiten, de marketing en communicatie van die projecten behoorden allemaal tot mijn takenpakket.
Als curator heb ik ondermeer ‘In Her Shoes’ (2009), ‘Devout/Divine – Fashion vs. Religion’ (2010) en ‘The Future That Never Was’ (2011) samengesteld. Ik heb topmodel Hannelore Knuts (2010) en Axelle Red (2013) gevraagd om een tentoonstelling samen te stellen rond hun carrière, inspiraties en ontmoetingen. De bijzonder succesvolle exposities 'UltraMegaLore' (2010) en 'Axelle Red - Fashion Victim' (2013) die internationaal veel weerklank kregen waren daarvan het gevolg.
In 2014 krijgt de tentoonstelling 'In Her Shoes' (2009) uit Modemuseum Hasselt een vervolg in de Kunsthal Rotterdam onder de naam 'S.H.O.E.S.' in het kader van het eerste MaakMee-project. Ik was curator van deze expositie die 113.000 bezoekers trok. In 2015 kan ik Sir Paul Smith overtuigen voor een expositie in Modemuseum Hasselt. De tentoonstelling trekt een recordaantal bezoekers (41.449) voor MMH.
In 2011 nam ik het initiatief om samen met FashionClash (Maastricht) en Design Metropole Aachen 'Fashion Across Borders' op te richten, een platform om jonge designers uit de Euregio te ondersteunen. Hieruit ontstaat later de Mode-Incubator MIA-H van stad Hasselt en de Limburgse Reconversiemaatschappij (LRM) die in het najaar van 2017 in Hasselt open ging. Medio oktober 2016 verlaat ik het Modemuseum om aan de slag te gaan als directeur Communicatie en Bestuurszaken bij Hogeschool PXL. Van januari 2018 tot juni 2019 werk ik aan het prestigieuze project 'De Wereld van Bruegel' in het Domein Bokrijk in het kader van het Bruegeljaar 2019 (De Vlaamse Meesters van Toerisme Vlaanderen). Deze expo is wegens groot succes verlengd gedurende 2020 (meer dan 260.000 bezoekers in 2019).
Naast professionele projecten, laat deze site nog een andere passie van mij zien: interieur en design. Wonen is een kunst. Schoonheid is een leidraad in mijn leven.

ENG - I'm a (fashion) photographer by education and have worked as a (fashion) photographer in the beginning of my career, among other things in art education. In 2008 I started as a project coordinator at Modemuseum Hasselt (MMH) for the exhibition 'Ten Dans Gevraagd'. A new world opened up for me. That first exhibition was an immediate success in many ways.
Ten months later, I was appointed director at the Fashion Museum. A job I did with heart and soul until the end of 2016. In 9 years' time, I was responsible for the organisation of 17 exhibitions at home and abroad, 9 of which as curator. In addition, I organised numerous events, openings and press conferences at home and abroad (the Netherlands, France). As director MMH, I expanded the collection of the Fashion Museum with numerous acquisitions that made the collection (and the museum) relevant for the current and future generations... Leading a team, financial follow-up, closing media deals, the marketing and communication of those projects were all part of my job.
As a curator, I put together 'In Her Shoes' (2009), 'Devout/Divine - Fashion vs. Religion' (2010) and 'The Future That Never Was' (2011), among others. I have asked top models Hannelore Knuts (2010) and Axelle Red (2013) to put together an exhibition about their careers, inspirations and encounters. The highly successful exhibitions 'UltraMegaLore' (2010) and 'Axelle Red - Fashion Victim' (2013), which received a great deal of international attention, were the result.
In 2014, the exhibition 'In Her Shoes' (2009) from Modemuseum Hasselt will be followed up at Kunsthal Rotterdam under the name 'S.H.O.E.S.' as part of the first MaakMee project. I was curator of this exhibition which attracted 113,000 visitors. In 2015, I was able to convince Sir Paul Smith to hold an exhibition in Modemuseum Hasselt. The exhibition attracts a record number of visitors (41,449) for MMH.
In 2011 I took the initiative, together with FashionClash (Maastricht) and Design Metropole Aachen, to establish 'Fashion Across Borders', a platform to support young designers from the Euregion. This later gave rise to the Fashion Incubator MIA-H of the city of Hasselt and the Limburg Reconversion Company (LRM), which opened in Hasselt in the autumn of 2017. In mid-October 2016, I left the Fashion Museum to start work as the Director of Communication and Administration at Hogeschool PXL. From January 2018 to June 2019, I am working on the prestigious project 'The World of Bruegel' in the Domein Bokrijk as part of the Bruegel Year 2019 (The Flemish Masters of Tourism Flanders). This exhibition has been extended through 2020 due to great success (more than 260,000 visitors in 2019).
Besides professional projects, this site shows another passion of mine: interior and design. Living is an art. Beauty is a guiding principle in my life.
