AXELLE RED - FASHION VICTIM

NL - Na Hannelore Knuts (UltraMegaLore) nodigde ik opnieuw een internationale Limburgse uit om het Modemuseum Hasselt te vullen met haar wereld: niemand minder dan mode-icoon Axelle Red cureerde een expo rond haar liefde voor mode, muziek en creativiteit.
Axelle Red staat al sinds het begin van haar carrière bekend als een vrouw van de wereld met een uniek gevoel voor stijl. Een artieste met een sterke persoonlijkheid en met een uitgesproken naturelle. Ze heeft, naast muziek, altijd een grote voorliefde gehad voor mode. Ik vroeg Axelle dan ook om een tentoonstelling samen te stellen rond de creatievelingen waar zij mee heeft samengewerkt, die zij bewondert of die inspiratie vonden in haar werk.
Axelle Red is een van de belangrijkste artiesten van ons land. Haar doorbraak in 1991 met de single ‘Kennedy Boulevard’ was de start van een succesverhaal. Axelle verkocht ondertussen wereldwijd al meer dan vier miljoen platen en ze scoorde vijftien top 10-hits.
Een van Axelle’s sterktes is dat ze openstaat voor nieuwe invloeden en niet bang is om zichzelf heruit te vinden.
Maar Axelle is meer dan muziek. Sociaal geëngageerd, Unicefambassadrice, moeder,… In al haar gedaanten blijft ze een integer en gracieus stijlicoon.
AXELLE RED - Fashion Icon werd een fashionproof overzicht van een carrière die op dat moment al meer dan 20 jaar duurt. De expo belichte designerstukken die Axelle droeg (zowel on- als off-stage) en een hele resem samenwerkingen met diverse designers, fotografen en videokunstenaars.

ENG - After Hannelore Knuts (UltraMegaLore), I invited another international star from Limburg to fill the Modemuseum Hasselt with her world: none other than fashion icon Axelle Red curated an exhibition around her love of fashion, music and creativity.
Since the beginning of her career, Axelle Red has been known as a woman of the world with a unique sense of style. An artist with a strong personality and a pronounced naturalness. Besides music, she has always had a great love for fashion. So I asked Axelle to put together an exhibition around the creatives she has worked with, admired or who have found inspiration in her work.
Axelle Red is one of the most important artists of our country. Her breakthrough in 1991 with the single 'Kennedy Boulevard' was the start of a success story. In the meantime, Axelle has sold more than four million records worldwide and she has scored fifteen top 10 hits.
One of Axelle's strengths is that she is open to new influences and is not afraid to reinvent herself.
But Axelle is more than music. Socially committed, a Unicef ambassador, a mother... In all her forms, she remains an honest and graceful style icon.
AXELLE RED - Fashion Icon became a fashion proof overview of a career that already lasted for more than 20 years. The exhibition highlighted designer pieces worn by Axelle (both on and off-stage) and a whole series of collaborations with various designers, photographers and video artists.
